Digital backgrounds have come a long way. Photoshop has greatly improved their techniques for extracting subjects and replacing backgrounds. Here are a few reasons to consider background swaps and some examples.
Weather- Using a digital background can be a great alternative to rescheduling outdoor sessions when the weather is not cooperating. Atlanta's weather can be very unpredictable. Rain, extreme cold, extreme heat or windy conditions might mean rescheduling your shoot.
Light and scheduling- For good natural outdoor lighting, we'll need to schedule sessions closer to the beginning or end of the day to avoid the harshest middle-of-the-day sunshine. But, if we shoot in the studio, we can schedule your shoot anytime.
Consistency- Digital backgrounds can be a better option for team headshots because of consistency across the images. For instance, if we have full sun on the first day of shooting with a skyline background, but overcast when we photograph the last few team members, the backgrounds for each set of images will look completely different.
We can also create a custom digital background with your office as the background image. If we need to take newly hired employees photos at my studio, we can swap in your custom background to match the other photos taken in your office.

Example of custom office background and digital swap.
