Props are a great idea for your branding photos. They give another visual element to an image and help tell your story. Props give you something to do with your hands and create new posing opportunities. Usually, people feel more comfortable holding something for their photos. My clients often ask for guidance about which props to bring for their branding photo sessions. So, here are a few of my favorite suggestions.

Practical props for office work. This list includes- laptops, phones, tablets, notepads, books related to your field, pens and coffee cups. These may not be the most exciting of props, but they offer a bit of storytelling to your images.

Props that relate to your specific business. If you make cupcakes, candles or soap, definitely bring some to your branding session! Are you a musician? An instrument is a great prop. Are you an artist? Brushes and a palette would be wonderful addition to photos.

Props that show your personality/interests. For a lot of businesses, it can be wonderful to bring some props to represent your hobbies and interests. A few of my corporate clients also use props for their headshot photos because it's a great icebreaker when meeting potential new clients or team members.

Logo signs or other logo swag. Items with your business logo are a great addition to a branding photo session! The custom logo sign (above) is available from a wonderful Atlanta vendor named Mayah the Maker. Stay tuned to my social media feeds, because Mayah and I are organizing a mini session day that includes one of her custom signs for each business.
Logo coffee cups and smaller signs are also a fun way to incorporate a logo prop into your photos. A logo t-shirt or hat might be a fun addition, too.
I hope this inspires you to think of some great props to represent your business for your branding session. Let's get creative with some prop ideas to help make your photos stand out in a unique way.
